Reason, Season or A Lifetime

The other day I read a  letter to new bloggers that struck a cord in me. The author was being truthful and giving good advice in my opinion. And once again I realized people come into your life for a reason, season or a lifetime. I first saw this saying on a plaque hanging in my friends living room when I was a teenager. Later on in life I found there was a poem to go along with the saying. Yesterday, I experienced the end of a "friendship" which also got me thinking about the poem. This friendship was technically never mine to begin with. Sounds weird I know, but this person was friends with my husband before I met him and a little into our dating life. Their friendship dissolved for many reasons although it never really went away, until now. In the end of this "friendship" I believe everyone learned the lessons that were being taught. All of the negativity was turned into a positive and you can't complain about that. All I can say is the Lord works in mysterious ways.

I'll leave you with the poem that has stuck with me for over 20 years.

Reason, Season or A Lifetime

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support. To aid you physically, emotionally, or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then without any wrong doing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die, sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled. Their work is done. The prayer you send up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON. Because your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real, but only for a season.

Lifetime relationships teach you lifetime lessons. Things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson. Love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.

It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, season or a lifetime.

Signs Are Looking Good

I am pretty excited because I actually had a period on my own and it was right around the time I expected it to come! For me, this is HUGE! I could NEVER predict when my cycle would start unless I was on a medication to bring it on. I know this doesn't mean I'll be pregnant by next cycle but it is still 1 for the win column! The next fabulous part is that there was NO TEBB, yay!! And last but not least - no horrible cramps! I can't tell you how long it's been since I haven't experienced crazy contractions during my period. These are all good things and tells me (which I already knew) that the surgery was sooo worth it. I am so thankful for NaPro and for Dr. S. She is 150% worth the 3 1/2 hour drive to Peoria! I saw Mary, my Creighton teacher, earlier this week and she was so excited about my chart and that my cycle had started. Her excitement got me excited, which is unusual for me. I'm pretty guarded when it comes to fertility, which is pretty understandable. This is still a waiting game and we shall see what the future holds but for now I'm feeling good and hopeful!

Infertility Sucked the Joy Out Of "Overjoyed"

Matchbox Twenty is my absolute favorite band and with that being said they have a new album coming out. Yay!! They have released two singles so far. The first one was a catchy little tune. The second song, Overjoyed came out with an unofficial video and the only way to hear the song was to play the video. This is where INFERTILITY took over my emotions and made me NOT like a MB20 song *gasp*. I paid more attention to the content of the video rather than the words of the song. The video goes backward in time. There is a pregnant couple and it goes back over the joyful events of their life. The joy and excitement of hearing a new MB20 song was stolen by the pain of infertility. My heart sank because I thought we would have a ton of kids by now. Sadly that's not the case.

Luckily, a few days have passed and I saw MB20 perform Overjoyed on the Today show this morning and quickly realized that I LOVE IT! I wish my first exposure to it would have been auditory only! I let someone else's interpretation of the song cloud my mind. It is a beautiful love song! :)

Go ahead and take a listen...try not to let the images sway you!
